Gasp! (Again)
I was sure the night of that last photo was its swan song and that it had died in the cold ... and then I went out tonight with the torch to see if the plumbing situation was as dire as I feared, and saw the moon was so bright it was casting shadows, so I looked up at it and there was this critter crawling across it, weaving a shade sail.

We've lost two, but I think the other one is still going. although we did have a frost yesterday.
Beautiful. I desktopped it, but my computer stretched it all the wrong ways, so I reverted to the previous spider.
I can't believe it's out there again tonight, this time at least twelve or thirteen feet above ground and in a huge, perfect wheel web in very bright moonlight. It's really quite eerie.
This is gorgeous. And a breakthrough.
