Elizabeth Taylor as I had never seen her and you probably haven't either

This is classic.

And she was still married to Michael Wilding, which means she can't be any older here than 23.

No, and they didn't see her, either (boom boom!). Isn't her "real" voice, in those last few sentences, astonishing?

Great find and sensational line at the end: "Paris is not biblical".

This is great. And Bennett Cerf on the panel!

Yes, and the look on her face as the Paris line was said was classic. She KNOWS Paris is not biblical :)

It's all so damned cute. I prefer the confused hedonist drawn to younger men. With older men she gave and took abuse. She rescued the word 'slut' from disgrace and gave it interest if not dignity.

Thanks for that. Marvellous performance - what fun she was having!

@Anonymous - 'slut'? Really? What a terribly limited view of humanity you have.

Yep, I'm not sure why I left that there, given my usual ruthless yet whimsical suppression of other people's FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!11!

What motivates such people? What was Anon doing at my blog at all? Why did he not choose to identify himself?

(Note pronoun choice.)

I so love the voice of the female contestant.
